As part of Madagascar’s Validation, which begins on July 1st 2023,^er an important milestone is marked by the call for stakeholder views.

In accordance with the Validation procedure, the EITI International Secretariat seeks to collect stakeholders’ views on the progress made in Madagascar in implementing the EITI Standard between June 2020 and June 2023. We kindly ask you to complete the questionnaire, which will be available on the EITI Madagascar website at the following address, in both French and English :

Countries undergoing Validation will receive a score based on the assessment of three components.

Components of Validation

• Stake-holders Engagement : This component assesses compliance with EITI Requirements 1.1 to 1.4, including the participation of the colleges and the oversight of the Multi-Stakeholder Group throughout the EITI process.
• Transparency : This component assesses compliance with EITI Requirements 2 to 6, specifically the extent to which the country adheres to the EITI Standard’s disclosure provisions.
• Outcomes and Impact : This component assesses compliance with EITI Requirements 1.5 and 7, namely the progress made in achieving national priorities and contributions to public debate.

Countries undergoing Validation will receive a score based on the assessment of three components.

Components of Validation

• Stake-holders Engagement : This component assesses compliance with EITI Requirements 1.1 to 1.4, including the participation of the colleges and the oversight of the Multi-Stakeholder Group throughout the EITI process.
• Transparency : This component assesses compliance with EITI Requirements 2 to 6, specifically the extent to which the country adheres to the EITI Standard’s disclosure provisions.
• Outcomes and Impact : This component assesses compliance with EITI Requirements 1.5 and 7, namely the progress made in achieving national priorities and contributions to public debate.

The three components of EITI Validation – “Transparency,” “Stakeholder Engagement,” and “Outcomes and Impact” – are each scored out of 100. The overall score is the average of these component scores.
